This is Peggy Sue Vintage

Hello! My name is Angi Henn, the owner behind "Peggy Sue Vintage". I would like to tell you a bit of my personal story, because "Peggy Sue Vintage" is more than just another vintage fashion shop - it reflects my lifelong passion for all things vintage.

It started when I was a little girl, rummaging through my grandma's attic. The things I found there would enchant the hearts of retro lovers today: Parcels from the post-war era of the 1940s and 1950s, full of everyday items ... and lots of vintage clothing! I fondly remember a bright purple Esther-Williams-style swimsuit - and I was fascinated. These styles were so much more beautiful than the Seventies styles I saw in my everyday life. This childhood experience evolved into a real hobby as I grew older. My other grandma's stash of vintage 1950s and 1960s fashion magazines proved the point: This was just how I wanted to look, now a rebellious teenager. I started browsing flea markets, and from then on, the more and more items in my wardrobe were inspired by 1950s rockabilly styles: cute petticoats and full swing skirts, but also pencil skirts and other treasures from the 1950s and 1960s.

My love for vintage clothing never left me. In my personal life and in my job, working as a graphic designer for many years - since those days in grandma's attic, I'm a vintage fan through and through. People kept asking me "Now, where did you find that lovely dress?" So, 2011 it was time for me to open a shop and sell the fashion I love.

In 2011 I opened my first shop, Peggy Sue Frankfurt, in a tiny retail space in Sandweg in Frankfurt. The store soon proved to be a success - and also too small for all the beautiful vintage styles! So I moved to the lovely Brückenviertel area of Frankfurt, and now Wallstrasse 20 is the go-to adress for high quality vintage fashion.

My customers tell me that they can be sure that all items in my shop are high quality, but still affordable. That's just what i "practised" over the years with my own wardrobe! Cheap quality is not welcome here, and my customers also love the fact that we don't do hard sell or fake compliments - our advice is sound and honest. Peggy Sue Vintage customers leave our shop with clothes that they feel good in. The same is true for our collection of beautiful vintage style wedding dresses ... nothing beats the smile of a customer who has found a new favourite outfit!

Because not everyone can come to Frankfurt to shop, I started my web shop „Fräulein Backfisch“ in 2014. The same quality standards apply to selling online, and of course customers can contact us with any questions they might have.

After 9 years of Peggy Sue Frankfurt and 6 years of our Fräulein Backfisch, it was time for a change. So now, store and web shop can both be found under the new brand Peggy Sue Vintage, bringing together the two elements of our business. Since our aim was to make the brand unique and special, just like our lovely customers, we have developed a new corporate design – our little Peggy Sue is now a grown-up lady, symbolizing quality and elegance while staying true to her vintage style. As you see, old and new are coming together – and some things never change, like my love of my work, my love of vintage fashion and the mission to put a smile on our customers’ faces.

Connecting online and offline is very important to me: Every item you see in the online shop can be tried on in the shop. This means we can also help you with any questions about fit and sizing, even if it means taking a detail photo or measuring the bust or length.

And now, you're invited to browse - here in our webshop or when visiting our Frankfurt store!

Sincerely,
Angi Henn
